Here Are the Best Times to Visit California Beaches
Spring
Spring is one of the quieter seasons in Newport Beach, and that’s why it’s one of the best times to visit California beaches. We like to call it “Secret Season” due to the smaller crowds and fantastic weather. This is arguably the best time of the year to get out and enjoy the beautiful outdoors without having to battle as many tourists as you would during the summer months. There are so many ways you can craft the perfect day in the spring. You can start your day off by walking to the beach. Here, you can relax on the golden sands, play in the ocean, or enjoy a game of sand volleyball (a Southern California pastime).
If you enjoy hiking, there are a few parks like the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and Corona Del Mar State Park that provide scenic views and fun adventures. Of course, smaller crowds also mean shorter lines and more reservations available at the restaurants that make up our incredible foodie scene. You can always grab some food from a local grocery store and grill out on your Burr White rental patio or porch on a beautiful spring night! Spring truly is one of the best times to visit Newport Beach!
Summer
Summer is the busiest time in our coastal paradise. Even with the crowds of people relaxing on the beach, this is still arguably the best time to visit California beaches. Average temperatures here in Newport Beach in the 70s and 80s accompany gorgeous sunny skies, providing visitors with the opportunity to spend the entire day on the beach, cruising around the harbor on a Duffy boat rental, or heading over to Disneyland with the kids. The Summer Concert Series near Fashion Island is another excellent way to enjoy the beautiful weather. While large crowds can be a deterrent for some, Newport Beach’s dining, entertainment, and outdoor scenes make our coastal paradise well worth the summer visit.
