Outdoor Activities

Hiking

With 18 miles of hiking trails and 2,400 acres of native wilderness, Crystal Cove State Park is a fantastic hiking destination! “The higher trails offer beautiful vistas of the mountainous backcountry, geological formations, and the blue Pacific Ocean. Exploring the lower trails offers hiking through riparian woodlands with oak and sycamore trees along the seasonal Moro Creek.”

Fishing

Crystal Cove allows fishing! You can expect to catch perch, sand bass, corbina, and rockfish when fishing in the State Park. Fishing is permitted with a valid fishing license. Explore rules and requirements at wildlife.ca.gov.

Crystal Cove Beach

Bring your bathing suit! Crystal Cove gets great waves and sun. Perfect for surfing and swimming. Explore Moro Beach, Reef Point, Historic District, and Pelican Point for the full experience.

Dining

The Beachcomber Café

One of the 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in the US

If you’re looking for beachside bliss, you’ll find it at The Beachcomber! Named a Traveler’s Choice restaurant by TripAdvisor, this is a must-visit (if you can get a table)! The Beachcomber serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so no matter when you visit, you’ll be able to get a delicious meal. The menu is seafood-heavy for lunch and dinner with traditional breakfast offerings in the morning hours. Don’t forget to order a drink while you’re there! We recommend The Real Deal Margarita (make it spicy) and the Endless Summer.

The Shake Shack

You may recognize the name but think again; this beach shack has no affiliation with the national chain. You will, however, find delicious burgers, crispy fish and chips, and famous shakes & malts here.

Local Recommendation: substitute the traditional fries for the cajun fries!
