Discover Corona del Mar Newport Beach 

Corona del Mar is a small beach community located next to Newport Beach with a collection of beautiful beaches wedged in between stunning cliffs. This incredible stretch of Orange County coastline is well worth exploring during your time in Newport Beach. Here are a few of our favorite places to explore in the area. 

Corona del Mar Beach State Park 

Corona del Mar State Beach provides a slight change of scenery for those exploring the areas neighboring Newport Beach. There is a paid parking lot for the public located next to the sand, and the rates change from weekdays to weekends. 

Little Corona Beach 

Little Corona Beach is by no means secret, but the lack of parking means that you won’t have to pack onto the small area of sand in this paradise. There is street parking available along Poppy Avenue and Ocean Boulevard. Once you hop out of your car, make the short trek down the paved hill, and you’ll find yourself at this enchanting spot. We recommend exploring the tide pools and snorkeling through the crystal-clear waters off the beach. 

Pirate’s Cove Beach 

A rocky outcropping separates this secluded stretch of Corona del Mar coastline near Newport BeachPirate’s Cove Beach is a short distance from Little Corona Beach and features fantastic views across the channel into Newport Harbor. Fans of the hit TV show Gilligan’s Island will love exploring this area that frequently served as a set during filming. 

Crystal Cove State Beach 

Crystal Cove State Beach may not be in Corona del Mar, but it’s only a few minutes down Highway 1. This beautiful stretch of coastline features plenty of hiking trails boasting incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. There are also a few fantastic places to grab a bite to eat at like the Beachcomber Café and the Crystal Cove Shake Shack.
